If your pump does not start when tank water is in use, please follow the steps below to diagnose potential causes:
- Is the pump plugged in and power turned on? If not, then plug in the pump and turn the power on. If the pump starts, there is no fault with the pump. If the pump doesn’t start, then go to the next step.
- Try another device in the power point such as a phone charger or hair dryer. Does the power point work? If yes go to the next step. If no, then contact your builder or electrician.
- Turn the power off at the pump power point for 10-20seconds and then turn the power back on. Does the pump start? If it does there is no fault. If not proceed to the next step.
- Check the water level in the tank. The water level needs to be at 500mm from the bottom of the tank for the pump to operate. You can check the water level by removing one of the inlet strainers in the top of the tank and looking inside or follow the steps in this video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKW35dxNbzU. If it is less than 500mm there is no fault with your pump. There is just not enough water in the tank. If the water level is above 500mm then proceed to the next step.
