With it's increased capacity, it can also support everyday household or garden use while still maintaining a designated fire reserve. The water tank inlet is where rainwater from a downpipe enters the tank. A mesh screen with light guard to block debris and algae growth is included.

A water tank outlet generally provides a ball valve to control the out flow out water from the tank, supplying water to pumps, irrigation, or household systems as needed.
